Dr. Niedermeier began his practice performing a balanced mix of open and endoscopic, wide-awake carpal tunnel surgery in both office and operating room settings. In May of 2023, he transitioned to ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release, recognizing its ability to improve efficiency, patient experience, and recovery. Since adopting this approach, he has performed hundreds of UGCTR procedures, allowing him to diagnose severity and discuss treatment options in a single visit while helping patients return to daily life quicker. His commitment to innovation, education, and patient outcomes led to his designation as a Center of Excellence Physician in July of 2025.
Dr. Niedermeier began using ultrasound after his first year in practice and started to gain confidence in the clinic first by diagnosing carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome, along with educating patients on their conditions using ultrasound. Dr. Niedermeier attended a MSK Ultrasound Mini-Fellowship in May 2023 and now regularly teaches at these programs across the country. He also participates in the MSK Ultrasound Forum as a Guest Faculty member, and is known for his practical, experience-driven teaching style.
Dr. Niedermeier earned his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine.
